Fabulous response to Trackrod Rally Yorkshire

Press release date: Tuesday 16 August 2022

  • Capacity entry for Trackrod
  • Call for marshals
  • £5000 support for marshals
  • Reserve list opened

The organisers of the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire have received an overwhelming response from competitors since entries for the 23/24 September rally opened. In just over a week 176 entries have been received and only a handful of places now remain.

Once again, the Yorkshire event will be the only rally of the year to host the British Rally Championship, the British Historic Rally Championship and the BTRDA Rally Series and contenders in all three championships have been quick to book their places. In addition, a typically strong contingent of local crews will be contesting the event, which is one of the UK’s most prominent gravel rallies.

Importantly, the organisers have put out a call for marshals and radio operators, both for Friday evening in Dalby and all stages during the day on Saturday. No event can run without the support of the unsung heroes and volunteers can register their availability via

marshals@rallyyorkshire.co.uk or on-line at www.rallystageteam.co.uk

In addition to the usual ‘thank you’ items, including a range of useful marshal necessities, this year the organisers are further acknowledging the major contribution from the marshalling community by presenting 20 random marshal awards of £100 each. This will bring the total budget for this important sector to over £5000, part of which is donated by the competitors in their entry fees.

Rod Parkin, Trackrod Rally Yorkshire Clerk of the Course said: “We’ve been very pleased with the response from competitors and it is shaping up to be a great event. Now we’d really like to hear from essential volunteer marshals and radio crews who come to help ensure a safe and successful rally.”
