It is with great sadness that we have to record the passing of Christine Goodall on the 7th October 2017.
Christine, along with her husband Ken, were amongst the original group present at the formation of Trackrod Motor Club and she thereafter played a valuable supporting role in Club activities.
Always at the forefront on the social scene, ringing round members to gain support for events of every conceivable nature – indeed, a leading light on the Social Committee for a number of years.
Christine was always at the ready to raise sometimes delicate issues at many an AGM to keep the Committee on its toes, as well as turning out to marshal on club events in all weathers.
One only has to scour the pages of the Club archive of Magazines to witness the full extent of her involvement in those early years. This, of course was in addition to giving support to Husband Ken in his rallying activities as well as raising their two girls, Deborah and Louise, all these required a sense of humour and a strong will – things Christine had in spades!
Latterly her active involvement in Trackrod has lessened considerably as other things took priority but she was always well aware of what was going on within Club ranks by maintaining a network of regular contacts.
For the last 4 years, Christine has fought a courageous battle with cancer – a battle to which she finally succumbed on her 74th Birthday !
We offer our sincere condolences to Ken, Deborah, Louise and their families on this sad occasion – Christine will be a sorely missed member of the Trackrod Motor Club Community !!
I am sure you will join me in expressing our sincere condolences to Ken and the Goodall family at this difficult time.
The funeral will be held at Rawdon Crematorium on Friday 20th October @ 12.20pm.
